Benefits of Making Your Bed

Task: make your bed

Isaiah 32:18 “My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.”

Starting off the day with making the bed can go a long way. Create a habit of making the bed as soon as you get up.   This one accomplishment can start off the day in a positive way and can be built on with other accomplishments throughout the day. 

By making the bed before you leave the room, will help to complete the task.  If you must leave the room, try to make the bed before you get dressed and ready for the day.  As the bed takes up a large amount of surface space in a room, a bed that is made feels less cluttered.  Less visual clutter will result in less mental clutter.  When making the bed, remove any extra items that don’t belong on the bed. 

Remember – ‘Clutter Magnetizes Clutter’.

Every time you enter the room with the bed made, it feels more relaxing.  At the end of the day, it is more inviting to get into a made bed.  Treat yourself with respect and enjoy a bed made daily.  Take the time to get into the habit of making your bed – treat yourself with respect – and enjoy the change.
